Croatia Photo Tour – A Dream Destination for Photographers
Croatia is one of Europe’s top travel destinations, famous for its crystal-clear Adriatic Sea, dramatic coastline and UNESCO sites. In the heart of this beautiful country is Dubrovnik, a fairy-tale city with ancient walls and stunning sea views. This historic gem is one of the world’s most beautiful coastal cities and a popular filming location for Game of Thrones so many travellers want to experience its cinematic magic.
For urban photography Zagreb, Croatia’s capital, offers a mix of Austro-Hungarian architecture, cobblestone streets and lively cultural scenes. But when it comes to landscape and nature photography Plitvice Lakes National Park is the crown jewel.
Plitvice Lakes National Park – A UNESCO-Protected Natural Paradise
Plitvice is a must-see for any photographer. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has 16 lakes, emerald-green water and waterfalls, making it a bucket-list location for travel and nature photographers.
Visitors can explore the park by panoramic boat rides, wooden boardwalks and scenic train routes, so you’ll have many perspectives to shoot the park’s beauty.
The waterfalls of Plitvice, especially Veliki Prštavac and Veliki Slap, are one of the most photographed natural wonders in Croatia, attracting both amateur and professional photographers to capture their power.
If you’re looking for the ultimate Croatia photography tour, Plitvice Lakes should be number 1 on your list.

Veliki Prštavac – A Highlight of Any Croatia Photography Tour
Of Plitvice’s best photography spots, Veliki Prštavac is the best. The Croatian word prštavac means “intensely spraying”, and this waterfall is living up to its name. Get too close and you’ll get soaked! The mist creates an otherworldly effect, making it a favorite for long exposure waterfall photography.
Veliki Slap – An Essential Stop on Your Croatia Photography Workshop
A Croatia photography tour isn’t complete without photographing Plitvice’s waterfalls.
The Veliki Slap (Big Waterfall) is the biggest waterfall in Croatia and a must visit for any photographer. There’s a dedicated viewpoint for wide angle shots and a nearby platform to enjoy a coffee or a local beer with a view.

The Wild Beauty of Velebit – Croatia’s Untamed Wilderness
Just beyond Plitvice lies Velebit, one of Europe’s most remote and wild mountains. This wilderness offers Adriatic Sea views, wildlife, hiking trails. It’s one of the few places in Europe where you can spot bears, wolves and wild deer roaming free.
Join a Croatia photography tour and discover secret gems, from ancient coastal towns to mountain landscapes.

A Unique Wildlife Encounter in Velebit
One morning while heading to a sunrise photography location, I spotted a shadow in the mist. My heart stopped – it looked like a wolf. After a few tense moments the figure moved closer and I realized it was an enormous shepherd dog! The dog followed me for the whole day and even shared my lunch. These unpredictable encounters make Velebit a true wilderness photography paradise.
Cheers to Croatia & Slovenia Photography Tour
After photographing Plitvice we’ll end each photo workshop with an exclusive dinner at a local restaurant. Here you can enjoy Croatian cuisine, medica (honey brandy) aged for decades and craft beer brewed with Velebit mountain water.

Photography allows me to express my natural curiosity and to explore the interplay between the outer landscape and my inner landscape.
Wild landscapes have always stirred complex and powerful emotions in me, and my photographs attempt to create a visual record of these emotions. Ultimately, it is my hope that my work evokes similar emotions in the viewer and expands his or her own appreciation of nature and art.
